Great touring, driving and picnic route:

Perfect for a weekend break, midweek break or day trip

Norfolk / Suffolk

This South Norfolk road trip offers a great variety of attractions. Perfect for a weekend break or day trip. It takes in some lovely villages; Banham, Keninghall and East Harling, and also offers up plenty of beautiful places to stop for walks, picnics and adventures.

It's definitely worth visiting Knettishall along the way. It is a beautiful spot with stunning woodland walks and a unique opportunity to see some famous unspoilt Norfolk Brecklands. There is even a fresh water swimming spot  complete with river beach!

Other places worth visiting along and around the route are Banham Zoo, High Lodge in the center of Thetford Forest, Lopham Fen and the Village of East Harling.

East Harling is home to St George's Whiskey distillery, Englands one and only Whiskey distillery! They offer a variety of different tasting tours for Whiskey buffs. A must place to visit for all whiskey lovers.

High Lodge is home to Go Ape adventure parc for those who like to take their thrills off the ground!

It is also host to some great mountain biking trails. You can hire bikes directly from the lodge and spend several hours tearing up the forest trails, or simply meandering along the gentler cycling  routes.

This route is a great way to get acclimatised to the cars.

A nice selection of local roads twisting and turning through the beautiful country side through and around Thetford Forest.

Providing a good mixture of fast sweeping and slower twisty bits. Usually nice and clear of traffic.
